Copy the comments under your video, paste them here, and draw a random winner from the @handles in the list.
This YouTube comment picker is for creators who promise a prize to someone in the comments. On YouTube, every commenter's name starts with @, which makes a pasted comment section easy to sort. Paste the comments into the box and the tool splits them by @handle, applies your rules, and draws the number of winners and alternates you choose.
There is no YouTube login and no channel connection. The picker cannot read comments from a video link, so you copy them from the page yourself. The draw happens in your browser and the comments are not uploaded. This tool is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
How to copy YouTube comments
Use a computer. Open the video in a desktop browser and scroll down to the comment section. Comments load in batches as you scroll, so keep going until the list stops growing. If replies count as entries in your giveaway, open each reply thread before copying.
- Click just before the first comment's @handle, scroll to the end, and Shift-click after the last comment.
- Copy with Ctrl+C, or Cmd+C on a Mac, and paste into the picker.
- Compare the entry count with the comment count shown above the comments. A big gap usually means some comments had not loaded yet.
- To leave out late entries, sort by Newest first and start your selection at the first comment posted before your deadline.
Fair giveaways on videos
Put the rules in the video and in the pinned comment or description: what to comment, the closing date, and how winners will be contacted. A keyword makes checking easy. Ask people to include a word or phrase from the video, then type it in the Must contain field so only matching comments count.
- Keep one entry per person on so commenting twenty times does not help.
- Add your channel handle and any moderators to the exclude list.
- Draw one or two alternates and say in the video how long a winner has to reply.
- Show the draw on screen in your next upload so viewers can see it was random.
Picking a winner from a live stream
For a live stream, ask viewers to post a set word in chat during a window, then copy the chat or the comments afterward and paste them in. Chat lines are often shown without an @ in front of the name, so check the entry count. If it looks wrong, change Entries are to each line is one entry and filter by your keyword. Announce the winner on stream while people are still watching.
Frequently asked questions
Can I paste a YouTube video link?
No. The picker does not connect to YouTube, so it cannot load comments from a link. Open the video in a desktop browser, scroll until all comments have loaded, and copy the comment section into the box.
Does it need access to my channel?
No. There is no sign-in with Google and no channel permission. You paste text you copied yourself, the draw runs in your browser, and the comments are not sent to a server.
How do I only count comments with a certain word?
Type the word or hashtag into the Must contain field. Only comments that include it, in any letter case, stay eligible. The entry counter shows how many are left after the filter.
What if a winner never replies?
Draw alternates at the same time as the winners. If a winner does not answer within the time you announced, contact the first alternate. This avoids a second draw and keeps the result easy to explain.
