Spin, knock one name off, and spin again. The last entry left on the wheel is the winner.
An elimination wheel works the other way around from a normal spinner. In Elimination mode every name the wheel lands on is removed, and the wheel shrinks by one slice. Keep spinning until a single entry is left. That last one standing wins. With ten names it takes nine spins, and each spin adds a bit more tension for the people still in.
It suits any choice where you want a full order, not just one pick. Use it to set turn order for a game, run a knockout for a prize, or pick presenters so nobody goes twice. Since the removed names stay listed in the results history, you also get the complete order in which people dropped out.
How to run a last one standing spin
Elimination mode is already selected on this page. Replace the sample names and start spinning.
- Enter one name per line in the box.
- Spin. The winner pop-up shows who is out.
- Spin again until only one slice remains.
- Press Restore to bring every removed entry back.
Knocked out first or last?
Decide before you start what the result means. In a prize draw, being picked is bad news, since the last name standing takes the prize. For turn order, you might read it the other way: the first name off goes first, the second goes next, and so on.
Say the rule out loud before the first spin. A custom winner message such as "{name} is out!" makes it clear to everyone what each result means.
Elimination mode versus remove-winner
Both take a picked entry off the wheel. Elimination mode is built for the full knockout, with a Restore button that resets the round in one press. If you want a running count of wins instead, try Accumulation mode, which keeps every entry on the wheel and adds to a scoreboard.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to the names that get eliminated?
They leave the wheel but are not deleted. The results history keeps the order they came off. Press Restore and every removed entry goes back on the wheel, ready for a new round.
Is each spin still fair as the wheel shrinks?
Yes. On every spin, each name still on the wheel has an equal chance, unless you set weights. The pick uses a crypto random number and is made before the wheel starts to move.
Can I use an elimination wheel for presentation order?
Yes. Spin once per person and write down each name as it drops off. That gives a full speaking order with no repeats. Export the results as CSV if you want to paste the order somewhere else.
How long does a full elimination take?
One spin per entry, minus one. Ten names means nine spins. Shorten the spin time to a second or two if you have a big group and want to get through the rounds quickly.
